I have given my phone number several times, even you can have it ( 412 915 9526 ) but the admin is not willing to call me. I believe GCStatus has sent his phone number too. I have been a member here since July 2007, based on the GCStatus credentials, he has created his ID just a month or so. Why would I all of a sudden fake my ID when I have such a good reputation in this site. You can visit all my posts.
I hope you got convinced. If yes, please talk to our super Admin.

Few big question we need answer tow
1) Why is there no forward movement of dates if there is visa was available from this year/quarter's quota... what is up with retrogression?
2) If visas were unavailable, why was the fucking date advanced to Sept 2006?
4) Why was FIFO not followed during adjudication?
3) How the Fuck long do they need to determine the backlog ..? we need USCIS to publish the backlog stats. Without that visa bulletins are pointless?

The media needs to know, I do not have any idea how.
Media will know - if we get enough numbers. I am already in touch with a couple of journalists but the critical thing is to get a good number to make a media event out of it. The current poll shows 53 Ayes and 124 Nays - well that's not going to cut it. We need more people to order tomorrow otherwise delivery window for Tuesday morning will be shut off.

We have had similar experiences in Southern California as well. We are about a group of 10 - 15 ppl. in so.cal who actively take part in the action items and contribute inspite of having 113 registered members in the chapter. We recruited over 200 newbies in the past three events in southern california. Let's see if we can get all of them to register and get active

first: my use of an extreme exemple to explain the EB category difference seems to have caused misunderstanding and offence amomg some people. this was not the intention, no slight was intended to anyone. sometimes one uses an extreme situation to make a point (3 yr degree in this case). I was not trying to stereotype and if that is how it came through...here is my humble apology.
i did reply to some of the posters by pm and had some intersting comments/discussion. its one of the nice things about this forum that people bring different insights into a problem...
qvadis, there is fundamental difference between allotting Employment based Gc on the basis of country of birth and based on job classifications/requirements. One happens to pertain to employment, the other is simply a way to mantain ahem "purity".
having said that, i do not favor the removal of country quotas in isolation- the redistribution of dates would make things better for long suffering people but it would not change the overall picture. therefore i support the package in its entirity (as does IV), ie recapture + STEM exemption + removal of country quotas. this would bring in substantially increased numbers and resolve the problem with ROW dates.
now that its established that this thread will not go back to its original intent, do the OPs mind if i close it? may be best to restart the discussion in a new thred?

This is very useful information. Pappu is unarguably right that it doesn't make sense to wait for a year even after paying $5K. The whole system is absurd.
I am writing mail to Ombudsman regarding delay in replying FOIA.
Guys, as IV is also putting all options and working on this, lets not loose our momentum and keep contributing towards this. Pappu's message clearly indicates that if needed, this fund will be used for this purpose specifically and also as he mentioned, we need more fund to get data earlier.

Yes, but it is not the receipt generation, it is the actual review of the case as per advertised processing dates. if your case is in the Processing Date window (based on your online receive date), then most likely your case is preadjudicated, and now is waiting for the visa in sequence of PD. Best of luck.

My wife too is in exactly the same problem. I am also looking for an answer to this. let me know if anybody went thru the 485 stage without any issues with this
I have a similar problem. In all my documents i just have one name as given name from childhood no surname or initials.
In passport given name is : XXX
And surname is : blank
In my H4 stamping they made it
Given name : FNU (First name unknow)
Last Name : XXX
So in my medical record and I-94, I-797 in US i use FNU XXX. I am planning to apply with this name itself as i feel it may take a while and is not safe to go to indain embassy and have a name change with this short time.
I plan to have my husbands name as my last name later.
Can i do it after filing for 485 or getting GC. Do reply.

The bigger question here is .......Are there any IOs sitting at the fingerprinting place . If yes, are they authorized to give out such info or even entertain any such requests ??
That is incorrect for my local ASC. I know that for sure. When I went to ASC for FP I do not think they were capable of answering any case related questions. All they do there is take FP notice , stamp it and do FP. They ask you to goto local office for any questions related to your case.
Secondly how come the IO had the authority to show an internal memo to a customer. Does it make sense?

This interview EXPOSED how un-informed and careless and whimsical are IOs in handling cases. MEMO should have been framed on their desks/mind....we don't have to remind these guys. In one moment they can deny as important a petition as AOS and just in a flash second they can approve it. They won't make any effort to dig out relevant info. It is like fliping a coin...plain luck when it comes to GC.

This is a great idea , but then DOS overturned the USCIS decision (hence the letter to Mike Chertoff and Condy of DOS from one the Congresswoman) . Shouldn't the flowers go to one of these guys ???
All bulletins are published by DOS. Same is the case with the July bulletin. However in this case, it was information from USCIS that forced DOS to reconsider!
Do you expect anyone to believe that when it takes one year to give 140, 000 visas... this time they managed to give 60, 000 visas in ONE month?? If something is fishy, it is at USCIS!
