I did put the 4-digit code from front of the card. Don't know what the issue is. Anyway used another card and contributed successfully. Want to make sure the focus of the group is on making more contributions, and not get bogged down with any issues that might come up. We are on a roll folks!!!!

Everyone in this forum knows that I am a complete moron: I did not even know ROW and Schedule A. So it does not make sense in paying attention to my advice. I still have the audacity to request everyone to pay more attention to the following.
No use fighting. Only the law makers can resolve this issue and they will not listen to us and pursue their own political interests.
Are we fighting over an unexistent pie? There is not even a small pie for us while we are discussing how to divide it.
Both sides have very valid points. It is perfectly fair game for everyone to present the best option for them; since I am moron I don't even know my best option. A healthy debate on the topic is insightfull specially to morons like me. Please convince me how this fight or a similar fight (vs a healthy debate) will lead us to our goal.
It is sad to see contributing members fighting over an issue that we may NOT have to resolve. I wish members contributed (financially) equally vigorously and helped equally vigorously in generating contributions from other members, because contributions will serve some purpose.

I do not want to be involved in faith restored discussion.... I have been in IV for long enough to know about IV... and since i know IV considerbly well... that is the reason i put forward my question in this open forum... What irritates me the most about the GC backlog is not knowing exactly how many people are in line ahead of me.
We all know how many visas (without spillovers, etc.) are allocated to each country every year, but none of us knows exactly how many GC applications/PDs for each year are pending, which makes it extremely difficult to even semi-accurately predict when a certain PD will become current and stay current.
When I ask myself when I will get my GC, the answer is, "anywhere between the next month to the next 3 years", which is sad to say the least.
That being said, I commend the core team's efforts in pursuing this option.
I was looking at my paypal history and for some reason (problems with downloading history), was only able to see the $50 recurring contributions that I have made (I was on a $20 recurring contribution schedule before I started the $50, and I have made numerous, $50, $100 one time contributions during various funding drives) to IV, and that total was $1000 (20 months), I expect the total from all my contributions to be close to $2000.
It may sound like I am tooting my own horn, but the intention of this disclosure is to motivate other members to start contributing. There used to be a time when I felt that if I contributed, I would be the only one doing so, and things wouldn't go anywhere and I would end up wasting my money. Boy, was I wrong. There are thousands of members who contribute and it is because of the support of these very members that we have achieved what we have.

Leong, welcome to IV forums. I hope that you will continue to support IV at your local state chapter levels (start one if there is no chapter) and participate physically at the DC rally. IV needs strong people like you to be successful in its cause.

Hi, I'm very tensed. I applied for H-1B under master CAP. I have finished all degree requirements including depositing PhD thesis. However, at the time of filing I could not wait for a letter from the registrar (it takes 5 business days).
So, I filed with a letter from my dept. The letter has the letterhead of the university and states that I completed all degree requirements and will graduate May 13th. It is signed by the dept associate dean.
Would that suffice? Could the petition be denied?
I have seen some denials but all for ppl who hasn't actually completed all requirements at the time of filing.
The petition was filed under regular processing, VSC. I got a receipt notice dated April/24. Online status still shows case pending.

And you need to do better than just posting links to ACLU and other left leaning websites if you want to forcibly argue your point. Somebody in this forum was pointing out how the majority here seem to favor illegal immigrants. Let me point out that Apraio was elected democratically in 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008. Apparently voters in his county have a different point of view about illegal immigrants and have no problems voting him again repeatedly.

Your PD is not yet current.
If they have issued GC to you, it was a mistake and you should report it to USCIS to avoid future problems.
There were several discussions on this forum about this issue.

If you believe in law suit you can discuss with a lawyer and ask about feasiblity of lawsuit and pros and cons with potential expense. Most lawyers will not charge for initial consultation. That will be a good initiative.
