How do u feel that a person who arrives in US yesterday, buys a labor, gets his GC within a year while thousands of us are waiting patiently.
It is an unfair practice and should have been stopped long time back.
It's never too late though.

does soft LUD mean RFE is comming or does it mean there are just pre adjudicating. Seems like a lot of people who got a soft LUD on 485 recieved rfe. Are there any people who had a soft lud on 485 but did not recieve any rfe.

Anti immigration group targets all of the immigration. You can see numbersusa website. There are 2 reasons for the hate towards H1b and L1 program. Fraud and abuse is more in H1b. 20% was found by USCIS. Many fear it could be more. Mainly Indian bodyshopping and consulting companies are main reason. Another reason is many fear that H1b and L1 program is main reason outsourcing. Many big companies laid off US workers and did outsourcing to cut cost and they were asked to give Knowledge transfer to the onsite resources (those who are H1b or L1). Number of jobs in High skilled are very less (may be 2%) compared to low skilled in US. So they think 65k is more in percentage terms. US congress expects that H1b should be used only when no US Workers available. That is the reason there is no support at all at congress to increase H1b Cap. When they put a H1b restriction for TARP companies it was passed uniamously. So if we need EB reform just we need to disassociate or take neutral stand on H1b. They cannot remove H1b as it was with WTO.
I always wonder why give GC to 50k people regardless of their education experience and harass the 65K master degree/highly skilled tech worker ? All anti immigration group target H1B but rarely I see any opposition to GC lottery. It seems to me that due to media ( lou was one big guy ) has painted the H1B as the biggest enemy of job loss which is not true.

We have used the following plan over past 3-4 years (though never had to file a claim)... it offers coverage for pre-existing conditions as well...
Visitor Health Insurance, Pre-existing condition coverage, AIU (http://www..org/)
Any insurance is good until you have to use it. It is nice that you didn't have to use it.
However, the fact remains that the 's plan is a fixed coverage plan that has sub-limits for each and every procedure. That means, it wll only pay a fixed amount and you will pay the difference yourself which can be a big amount.
It is always better to buy comprehensive coverage plans that have no sub-limits.

Iam hoping to get an H1B extension before my travel to india.IF I come back on AP without stamping a valid H1B on my passport, my status is Parolee.Now if my AOS is denied for some reason, what will be my status? Will I be out of status? How will I go back to H1 status?Do I have to travel back to India and stamp the visa? or you can just file an amendment and get the H1 extended?

USCIS doesn't use postmark date. Don't sperad incorrect info and don't make other members anxious needlessly.

I suppose it would help if IV core team would discuss with members about their target contribution and percentage of goal already met. i know it might not be possible to give out the exact numbers but we can always have a percentage % on the site showing how much more is needed. This will also energize active and non active members and give them something definite to work towards..

i myself was quite clueless about the immigration process when i started out and got stuck in EB3 unnecessarily. Even though my company is one of the best in the industry they had never done H1 or GC before i came along and were quite clueless about it.
This forum is meant for asking immigration questions...lets be helpful rather than speculate on the person's circumstances or acumen.

It is very difficult to make a prediction...The 7% country quota for china is satisfied already...So it could be this october
The only chance that it happens is that visa overflow from other categories into EB2China/India...For that to happen..Eb3 world has to become current.....
That would mean that more visa are available than can be used for Rest of world...Then CHINA/India would get some more than 7% country quota....
So it could be Oct 07 or if you are lucky... earlier....
If immigration reform happens..you would definately become current immedialtely...

So far from the poll results I see that most of us are here by choice ( though we are put thru GC waits). no matter what we will try to stay here until we reach our personal breaking point which would tigger us to look at alternatives.
Someone here asked what independence and freedom has to do with the Quit America thing. Most of the immigrant community feels that they are not given access to lot of things due to restrictions in their visas and unpredictable GC process. And the inconvenience and trouble their familes go through. With that in prespective I am thinking that we have lost atleast some of our freedom and independence.
This reason for this poll is to also make people think .

If you or someone believes that by quiting US, one can achieve independence and freedom, by all means. I don't think America says that you HAVE TO work and live here.
