I wonder where does people come up with such detailed info from. federal felony, lose your property , wow!!!! Even big corps hiring illegals getting away with just fines. Law Enforcement do not worry about the immigration status of the person. I know 2 incidents where my friends got in to car accidents with illegals . the other parties had no license, No id and No insurance. In both cases the cops weren't even bothered about their immigration status even though it was clear that they are illegals. cops gave ticket in some pseudo name they gave and they got away with no trace left.

logically speaking lottery will be applied only on the applications that have crossed the limit. for 20000 MS H1 quota assume on April 4 the numbr of applications recieved is 18000 and on April 5 the number of applications recieved is 4000, then lottery will be held for the 4000 applications to determine the 2000 cases. All applications recieved on and after april 6 will be returned.
This is just my logical reasoning.
If less than 20,000 MS H1B applications were received on April 2, what will be the rules of the lottery? Will all those whose applications were received on April 2 be guaranteed a H1? In this case,will lottery apply for April 3 and April 4?

My visa stamp has name some thing like that

The passport has Given name as XYZ ABC ....and surname is blank
The EAD ,485 ,Social Security Card has

The michigan DMV has refused to issue the Driver Licence ,They are telling the names do not match ...... Some how I have shown the AP document which has photo as identity and having name LNU, XYZ ABC ......accepted the documents . I know this is start of whole lot of trouble ...
Now I want to know how to correct these changes at USCIS ,consulate .......

They will state they go by RD but check what RD they have in their system, does not matter what RD you have in your receipt.
May be it is an issue for transfer cases only where initially RD was issued by another service center say VSC and then case was transferred to TSC and TSC is using RD the date when they got the case. At least that is case for my app they told me. My lawyer is following up and if they don't fix it i Plan on using Congressman, Senator etc even a law suit as it is ridiculous that TSC sen the app to VSC for data entry and is not willing to honor the RD which VSC entered.

However, due to high volumes of July/Aug07, it put a lot of people (including me) behind several thousand others. I am a July 07 filer, but my online RD is Oct 11, 07, thus putting me behind all those entered in the system ahead of me.
Even if they know the problem it is not easy to correct, because mail rooom RD is no where other than a stamp on paper. This date could be used for legal purposes, such as use of AC21 etc. However, for sequencing your case for processing, they are not going to manually resequence thousands of paper files by looking at the stamped mail room date.

She had her delivery in a hospital which automatically assures adequate care for the child (paid for by the good citizens of Maricopa county, i should add).
As long as the pregnancy is uncomplicated, a woman is perfectly capable of delivering with a leg shackled. In no way does that put her at risk of complications.

Articles like this are published primarily to sway public opinion in favor of illegal aliens and amnesty. Judging by the responses I am impressed who effective they are.
If it were for some of the antiimmigrant folks, my friend you (sugaur) wouldn't be here a day longer. you would be "out" in a wink from this country. so dont consider yourself too supportive of anti-immigration. Even citizens are favoring resolving the ilegal immigration crisis by granting some legality to those who are here ilegally. Dont support ilegal immigration but atleast dont bash those who show support to resolving this crisis. you and me are mere temporary visitors here. please remember that your country is not this. you are here seeking prosperity and so are they. this country has a way of dealing with them and us and neither has been satisfactory so far. H1 is a temporary situation. Your family is permanent. Protect your family.
Do not let the fear of social services coming to check on you from stopping to do the right thing. They have a job to do; they will not take away a child unless they really believe that the child is not being cared for. They do not want to add to the strain of foster care system which is already under stress.
Law enforcement agencies also monitor sites like IV, Rajiv Khanna etc. And they can get a subpoena against IV to get your information if they suspect that a crime has taken place.
Everyone: please please ... You should not only check for the cleanliness and background of the staff (and facility) who take care of your kid. Also make sure that their way of taking care of your kid meets your expectation. Do not make any assumptions. Ask pointed questions and get certain answers.
Also... I feel that there is more to the story than what the OP has said in his one and only posting.
I think he/she already went past the point to think "what will happen to me" when they hired someone knowing that she was not legally eligible to work/provide that service.
If not them reporting that nanny, her next victim will report her. I strongly believe that, if she is used to that way of raising a kid, she will hit other kids in the future. And they will be exposed at that point when the authorities grill her to spill the beans on her previous employers.
I am also afraid that the OP might take matters into his/her own by making an emotional decision; and that would put him in hot water.
chanduv: I read your post about how you hired a nanny based on your parent's monitoring her behaviour around your kid when they were visiting you. I hope that was not the only criteria for you to choose her. Keep in mind that a person's behaviour when they are alone speaks of their true nature. They can behave nice and good when they have company; but do they continue to be the same when there is no adult around them?
Definitely install a nanny cam that you/yourwife can keep checking from work.

I have seen lot of ppl wine about the Dec bulletin, inefficiency of USCIS, cursing IV, EB2 Vs EB3, exploitation by Desi Employers, leaving negative comments ETC. ETC.... but when it comes to just sending letters, they won't do it but some how they will manage to find the time to reply non-immigration related issues in very detail.
Therefore I request all the members to please send the letter (regarding AC21 Denial issue) ASAP.
BTW: As a father, I fully sympathize with this guy & understand his situation. Whatever happened to his kid is tragic but again as mentioned by few other members, he should have posted this issue on sulekha or some other websites.

Ok, been thru this also recently.
As these days your photo comes printed in the passport unlike those old days when they used to affix the photo with gum. Hence, the new size 3.5 cm because i think they scan it and computer prints it.
To answer your question, at NY the correct size is 3.5x3.5 cm.
However, they are accepting 2x2's as well, but the downside is the computer cuts it to 3.5x3.5 cm hence showing ONLY your face without a little bit of neck or shoulder. This photo does not look good, i have seen this happen with the same guy that i mentioned in the above therad.
I took both 3.5x3.5 and 2x2, they didn't care, but i gave them 3.5x3.5 as it was stressed in the NY webpage.

My complete name <A B> is written in the passport on the surname line. The given name field is blank! So it is in the passport as:
surname: <A B>
given name:
I would like my new passport to have it correctly as
surname <B>
given name <A>
But the consulate has refused to do it without a notarized affidavit.
I did take the affidavit to my bank for notarization, but they were obviously clueless about the affidavit form and refused to notarize it.
